Jet Kids’ BedBox Review

While planning our family trip to Europe the number one tip I found was to book flights during your child’s bedtime. What a great tip, right? But, then I started thinking … if my son is uncomfortable while sleeping on the plane, a flight during bedtime is not going to work at all. Of course I began the search to comfortable sleep on a plane (is that even a thing?) and I found the best answer: The Jet Kids BedBox. This is the next best thing short of actually having your kids’ bed on the plane with you.

This is a sponsored post in which I received free product for an honest review. All thoughts an opinions are 100% my own.

Who is Jet Kids?

Jet Kids was started by two travel-loving parents after they came to the realization that traveling comfortably with their daughter was easier said than done. After many prototypes, with the help of Frost Product and Innovation Norway the BedBox was born. They created a premium quality ride on suitcase with bed/leg rest features. This product is top in functionality. While there are other products out there that mimic this one, none are as functional as this one. No having to blow up or carry additional things with you!

I fell in love with the bed box at first sight. It was amazing to me that a) it converts just about any plane seat into a bed for the kids but b) it also serves as a ride on toy on top of being a luggage.

Design

If I am being honest, the design spoke to my minimalistic soul lol. The bed box comes in gray with either red or blue accents. A sticker sheet is included to help your child customize their own BedBox. I have seen other kids’ luggage with bright colors and designs but I just loved the simplicity of the BedBox.

Specs

The BedBox meets the requirements of a carry on. We were able to fit it perfectly underneath my son’s seat during take off and easily pull it out for the actual flight. The bed/leg rest can be used by children up to 7 years old.

Ride On

The BedBox kept Nick entertained while we waited at the airport. I was able to walk all around our gate while pulling him. We got a few looks from people who had never seen such a thing. Some people even wondered why such a luggage was not available for adults haha.

Luggage

Although the BedBox can be used as a luggage, the rolled up mattress takes up about half of the suitcase. Nonetheless, I was able to pack all of Nick’s clothes (2 week’s worth) in the BedBox by rolling his pants and sticking all of his tops, underwear, and pj’s in a small packing cube that sat perfectly at the bottom. I did this thinking that if we had any issues with our luggage I would have everything I needed for my son with us.

The Flight

Our flight from Los Angeles to Paris was about 10 hours long Nick fell asleep more or less an hour into the flight and woke up about 2 hours before we landed. Our plane supposed to leave at around 6:45PM, it was a bit delayed so with that plus boarding and everything Nick actually ended up falling asleep right around his bedtime which is between 8 and 8:30PM. Having him sleep for most of the flight was amazing. I was able to watch about 3 movies, eat dinner, and sleep while my little one rested next to me.

When we arrived to Paris the people sitting in front of us told us that he had done amazing for such a long flight.

Our flight back to Los Angeles from Barcelona was a lot longer, a little over 12 hours. Our flight was also delayed and Nick fell asleep while we waited to board. My husband and I were able to set up the BedBox right after take off to make him more comfortable. This time he woke up about 4 hours into the flight, he watched TV, played on the iPad, ate, and read books for about 3 hours and then went back to sleep. With the Bedbox he was comfortable sleeping and also while just hanging out.

The BedBox made our little one’s flight experience amazing and it helped us have a good and relaxing start and end to our trip.

The Final Verdict

If you are traveling with your child I strongly suggest and recommend that you get your hands on a Bedbox. My son’s comfort is always my number one priority and I am thankful I found such an amazing product. For more information on this product visit their website.
